March into more Health & Energy!

Our energy levels most definitely affect our health. If we run on low energy for too long, we all know that eventually we become sick. We can, however, stay healthy by keeping our energy levels balanced and learning how to recharge ourselves effectively and regularly.

In today’s fast-paced business world, we focus and prioritise our time, lead and develop our people, manage our resources, our finances, and some people even manage to maintain balance in their lives. We have seminars and courses teaching us how to manage all sorts of things, but few people have any idea about how to manage their energy, even though it is the most fundamental resource of all.

We are totally geared up for non-stop productivity; we are required to deliver more and more with less and less, yet still provide a better and even better service. We are required to handle a rapidly increasing pace of life, an explosion of information and technology, plus deal with the constant flow of life’s changing forces. If we want to maintain such high levels of performance, we need to have a corresponding level of energy in order to cope.

A Formula 1 car uses approximately 10 times as much fuel as an ordinary car so that it can deliver its superior performance……and the fuel is specially blended to suit circuit and weather conditions. Our current methods of recharging our energy, such as food, sleep, TV, exercise, even play-stations and holidays, are no longer enough. They supply us with the basic levels of energy suitable for a basic quality of life, but these methods are simply not sophisticated enough to meet the demands of today’s lifestyle.

The symptoms of that horrible word, ‘stress’, act as an early warning sign for all sorts of potential illness. They signal an imbalance between our energy levels and the current demands of our life. This is not a problem in the short-term, as we somehow always find a way to manage, hide, deny or even totally discount what’s really going on inside us. Being under pressure may, indeed, help us to develop our character and to grow emotionally or physically stronger, but long-term stress, without time for recovery, leads to nothing but ill-health……and it could so easily be prevented.

There are two ways to reduce stress – you can either reduce the demands on your life, or you can increase your energy. The former is usually the first and most common response – “I’m doing too much, I need to slow down” etc. etc. However, this is rarely the most effective strategy as it leads to disappointment, dissatisfaction and disillusionment all round, simply because each time you reduce a demand, you eliminate a challenge from your life.

Increasing your energy is a much more pro-active and positive option as it allows you to handle more. This gives you the chance to increase your capacity and to manage a richer, more interesting life. You can face more challenges, without being overwhelmed, whilst feeling satisfied as you experience more, achieve more and go on to enjoy your life more.

Energy is our life force – it is the most important human resource of all. It is the difference between being alive or dead and health or sickness. When we are full of high quality energy, we are happy, healthy and can handle any type of challenge. When we lack energy, it affects our concentration, our ability to communicate and to connect with others, our productivity, our creativity, our sex lives, our decision-making and so much more….

Lack of energy is the primary factor in the cause of stress and affects your ability to manage multiple life demands. It is ruled by fear and outright passive behaviour – if you’re experiencing any such symptoms, do something about it right now. Take charge of your energy & take charge of your life!
